Our Story
Established on December 6, 1982, Hup Huat Lee initially ventured into the field of construction services throughout Singapore. The company partaked in numerous projects. One notable project involved overseeing a team of over 200 workers as a contractor for a Changi Airport terminal. However, in 1987, our founder, Queh Boon Suan, recognized that waste management was not being adequately addressed in Singapore. Consequently, he decided to shift the company’s focus from construction to waste management.
Initially, Hup Huat Lee primarily traded newspapers and cardboard, gradually expanding its operations to include metals in 1989. While managing waste, the company also engaged in importing and exporting electronic gadgets, both domestically and internationally. However, in 2000, Hup Huat Lee decided to temporarily suspend its secondary service of importing and exporting electronic gadgets to concentrate solely on waste management.
Over time, the company expanded its waste management services, including refuse collection for educational institutions such as NUS and other high schools. Today, Hup Huat Lee’s core emphasis is on waste management, offering disposal and trading services to individuals and corporate entities locally. At Hup Huat Lee, we are committed to upholding best practices to ensure that you receive the highest quality service available. We are dedicated to ongoing innovation in our field.
